I’ve used several types of ratchet straps. On some trailers the ratchet is built into the body of the trailer. It is just a pipe with a slot the strap will go through attached to a tooth and wheel ratchet and operated with a pry bar. The strap itself will have one end with a hook on it and are stored with the strap rolled “hook out”.
