We offer a strong 16.5oz Vinyl to a light weight 11 oz vinyl. If you want something even more light weight and rip resistant, you may want to try our ripSTOP material.
We offer this in 2 different types of material, 14oz and 11oz ripSTOP. The benefit of a ripSTOP material is that if you get a puncture in this material, the rip will not continue to grow or rip. It is harder to rip or puncture through this material with the way this material is made, making it a better and stronger tarp.
There are many types of tarps you may need whether it be your typical Lumber Tarp, Steel Tarps, Coil Tarp, Smoke Tarp and many other types.
Here we will explain some basic differences between these tarps and how you can decide which one you may need for your inventory.
Lumber Tarps – Lumber Tarps are usually made with a heavier duty stronger vinyl and normally have a flap on the end. This is due to the fact that most load drivers carry needs to be kept completely dry and away from the dirt, grime and smoke/debris that is kicked up on the road during travel. These flaps help you completely cover your load and make sure whatever you may be carrying does not get wet or dirty.
Steel Tarps – These tarps are usually just as strong as a lumber tarp and quite frankly made out of the exact same vinyl as a lumber tarp, the only difference is that there is no flap. There is also D-Rings on all sides that way you can flip this tarp around and use it as any size drop as you may need. These tarps are usually used to cover loads that may not need to be completely covered so tightly as a “lumber load” and you don’t need that end flap.
Machinery Tarps – Machinery tarps are steel tarps but on a larger scale. These tarps usually are used to cover oversized loads or very large industrial machines or vehicles that you are transporting.
Coil Tarps - These tarps are specialized tarps that are stitched in a “bag” style fashion so that it will cover a coil completely. Coil tarps typically come in sizes ranging from 6’ to 7’ and have slits on the sides to help incorporate your chains that are holding down your coil. These tarps are a must for coil haulers as they are much easier to tarp coils than a traditional tarp.
Smoke Tarps – Smoke Tarps are smaller tarps that can be used as a tarp for very small loads on the back of a normal pickup truck or hotshot hauler OR traditionally they are used as a makeshift flap tarp when a truck driver needs one in a pinch and does not have a lumber tarp for a load. These smaller tarps usually only have 1 rows of d-rings and can be attached and tied down to Steel Tarps and Flatbeds rails to protect your cargo.
Conestoga Tarps/Trailers - TarpHaus offers Conestoga Trailer Installs and repairs. Conestoga Trailers are a great way to still be a “Flatbed Truck Driver” but not ever have to tarp again. With a Conestoga Trailer you get to have a built-in, sliding flatbed tarp. These systems are designed to cover your cargo without any potential damage. Instead of having to tarp and un-tarp every time you can just access it from three sides when the Conestoga trailer is opened. All tarps are made with multiple rows of D-Rings, depending on the size. D-rings are galvanized and then zinc plated. They all have flaps under them to protect the tarp from the bungees when they are tied down.
Tarps also have one row of grommets along the bottom edge. Brass Grommets are every 2 Feet. We Heat seal our seams which makes our tarps completely waterproof.
