Truck Driver Appreciation Week Kick off
Truck Driver Appreciation week is finally here! The American Trucking Associations and the global trucking industry kicked off a week-long salute to the 3.6 million professional truck drivers who safely and securely deliver America's freight every day.
The trucking industry gets a chance to publicly acknowledge the accomplishments of professional truck drivers during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, which runs from September 12 to 18.
As said by ATA President and CEO Chris Spear: "This week is a time to remind the public of the debt of gratitude owed to these unsung heroes. At a time when confidence in our national institutions sits at a low, and crises of leadership have seemingly become the norm, I'm pressed to find a group of Americans more deserving of our appreciation and respect."
From coast to coast, state trucking groups, industry suppliers, law enforcement, and motor carriers of all sizes are planning celebrations to honor the men and women who safely carry 72.5 percent of the country's total freight tonnage.
More than 80% of towns in the United States rely only on truck drivers to supply their goods and commodities, ensuring that even the most remote residents have access to contemporary comforts.
The American Trucking Association (ATA) is encouraging the trucking industry to participate in this week's celebration of truck drivers by involving local communities. Public authorities, community leaders, members of the media, and local companies can all benefit from a better knowledge of the critical role truck drivers play in moving the economy safely every day. The ATA's official NTDAW website has a number of materials to help you improve your driver appreciation events. ATA's programming allows dedicated industry leaders to engage their communities during this critical week. These resources help to improve the public's perception of professional truck drivers and demonstrate public support for the difficult work that they do every day.
The American Trucking Association is honoring NTDAW by holding a raffle to recognize professional truck drivers. Drivers will be chosen at random beginning today and continuing throughout the week to win NTDAW21 goods. Through a collaboration with Trucking Moves America Forward, ATA, and state trucking groups, billboards thanking professional truck drivers are being posted across the United States.
