It will not protect your cab and you in case of an accident or collision if you are hauling log poles or cargo of such nature, this type of cargo is considered extremely dangerous, and they may come loose if an accident occurs. It is always best to follow all DOT standards and guidelines when tying down certain loads.
However, Cab Racks are a great tool to protect you from loose cargo control equipment when you have stored it properly inside them.

Trailer Tool Boxes:
Trailer toolboxes used to be a luxury but now it is almost a necessity with having to store your items somewhere on your truck.
Toolboxes can come in many different sizes and materials depending on your preference. From the smallest sizes being 18” x 18” x 24” to the largest size 24” x 24” x 72”, TarpHause offers many different options in between.
Aluminum tool boxes are the lightest weight option. Aluminum is a very lightweight and durable metal that is a great option for a truck driver that needs to watch the weight he carries on his flatbed. Heavy Toolboxes can push you over a weight limit on an axle without you even knowing it. Some of the heaviest ones can weigh up to 170 lbs and then add in another 100lbs of product and before you know it you may be overweight at a weigh station by 100lbs without even accounting for that toolbox on your underbody. That is why Aluminum is a great choice if you want lightweight but durability. Stainless Steel Tool Boxes are a heavier duty toolbox but they weigh almost double. If you can afford that type of weight on your truck, then these boxes may be for you. Stainless Steel does have the tendency to weather a little faster than aluminum, so you must take a little extra care with anything steel in the elements. The plus side to steel is that it is a very strong material and the toolboxes that are made from steel can hold and take a lot of wear and tear. That is why some drivers still tend to like and purchase them.
All Toolboxes need to be properly mounted to your trailers frame with either our mounting brackets or mounting brackets of some sort. If you mount the toolbox directly to the trailers frame this will void all warranties and can cause the tool box to get damaged faster due to the friction and vibration of it directly against your truck’s frame while on the road. TarpHaus cannot be held liable for any improperly mounted toolboxes and will ask for all pictures of how it was mounted when any claims are emailed or called in.
Aluminum Step Boxes are another smaller form of toolboxes. These are typically mounted to the side of the trailer frame between the gas tank and the wheel well (Of course you can place them anywhere you have room). Depending on your space the sizes available are 12”, 15”, 18”, 24”. They have steps welded onto them and a small lid that you can raise and place your products inside of the box for storage. These are nice to have because it give you a small step ladder onto your flatbed but it also gives you a small area for additional storage.

Trailer Loading Ramps:
Trailer Loading ramps are mainly used by step deck drivers when they need to load their trailers from one level to another. Loading ramps are designed to hold 23,500 lbs per axle. They can also be converted into a load leveler when you have a larger load than may overhang onto the lower level of your step deck and you need to “level” out your load.
These trailer loading ramps are a necessity when you decide you are going to become a step deck driver. They are an expensive investment, but they will become a tool you use all the time and realize you are not sure how you would live without them.
