E-Tracks

TarpHaus knows both sides of the trucking industry because our sister company is a trucking company and if anyone knows what it’s like to be a truck driver it’s us.  Dryvan is just as important to the lifeblood of the highway just like the flatbeds.  There are many types of cargo that can not go onto flatbed trucks like produce, food and very fragile products.  And to be able to transport this type of cargo you need different products and equipment.  You will find all this equipment in this category.

An E-Track System is defined as a system installed in an enclosed truck or cargo van.  It has slotted tie down rails that run throughout the truck or van walls so that straps with specialized ends can fit into the slots and hold down the cargo, so they don’t move around during transport.  The actual E-Track system can be either horizontal, vertical or contain both types of tracks.

E-Track Straps:  

E-Track straps are the most popular straps used in Dryvan and enclosed cargo van cargo securement.  E-track Straps typically come in 3 Standard lengths 12’, 16’ and 20’.  These are always color coded the same across all companies and vendors.  12’ are yellow webbing, 16’ are grey webbing, and 20’ are made with blue webbing.  This makes it very easy to immediately grab the correct size from inventory to strap down your cargo quickly inside your truck. 

Unlike flatbed straps, E-track straps all have the same end fittings but the actual ratcheting part can be different on these straps.  Some straps have a standard ratchet and some straps can offer a cam buckle.

All E-tracks Straps are made from strong and durable poly webbing and they are marked and tagged according to DOT guidelines and Standards.  All working Load limits must be followed to avoid any injuries or damages to equipment.

Load Locks:

Load Locks are also known as Load Bars which are used to hold your cargo inside your dryvan.  They are made from steel and are adjustable rods with rubber pads on both ends for gripping ability on the walls of the truck.  The small spring mechanism that you use to apply the pressure to your cargo.  You use them in a horizontal position and against both interior walls.

Always make sure you are adhering to all working load limits listed on the product.  Failing to follow these can cause severe injuries. 

Decking/Shoring Beams:

Decking/Shoring beams have a dual purpose in Dryvans.  They can be used at the back end of loads to secure your load and help keep it from shifting inside your trailer.  

They also can be used as extra decking.  You will have to use 2-4pcs to make a new “deck” to put one skid/load on top of it.  Your cargo should be lighter loads to ensure you are adhering to the working load limits of the bars.  Most common working load limits are 2,000 lbs per bar.  Placement of your cargo should be centered to distribute the weight evenly.
